Judge Mathis star, Greg Mathis, and his wife Linda are headed to divorce court after 39 years of marriage.
Linda filed on Thursday (Aug 22) listing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, according to an article posted on Thursday by TMZ.
Linda listed their date of separation as July 17, according to court documents. She asked for spousal support in the filing and also moved to block the court’s ability to award Greg with spousal support.
It was unclear if a prenuptial agreement was involved.
The 64-year-old television arbitrator met Linda shortly after his mother’s death. They got married in June 1985 and share four children. Greg and Linda are both alumnus of Eastern Michigan University.
Judge Greg Mathis is known for his advocacy campaigns for urban youth, and equal justice. He is the longest-running African-American male host on television. His inspirational life story of a street youth who rose from jail to Judge has provided hope to millions who watch him on the Emmy Award-winning television court show Judge Mathis each day.
Greg starred on the TV court show Judge Mathis for 24 seasons from 1999 to 2023. He later starred in the E! series Mathis Family Matters.
The courtroom show host was honored in May 2022 with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
