Kandi Burruss recently opened up about Kenya Moore’s sudden departure from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. During an Amazon Live session, Burruss expressed her sadness over Moore leaving the popular Bravo show. Moore’s exit followed an incident involving explicit pictures of new cast member Brittany Eady, which Moore allegedly unveiled.

Kenya and Kanid’s Close Friendship

“Unfortunately, my girl Kenya was part of this season, and there was an incident that happened,” Burruss, 48, shared. “I wasn’t there, so I can’t give you details of what happened, but it makes me sad. I’m not lying about how I feel because she is my friend. I do love her.”

Burruss, who did not return for season 16, acknowledged that Moore sometimes goes far to keep people honest on the show. However, she defended Moore’s character, saying, “I have never known her to make up anything about anybody.”

Reflecting on Kenya Moore’s Impact

Burruss reminisced about Moore’s role on the show, highlighting her importance in pushing difficult conversations. “When you join a reality show, unfortunately, people can pull up things you’ve done and share them. That’s not always a nice or cool thing to do, but it happens,” she explained.

Moore’s departure marks the end of an era for Burruss, who emphasized Moore’s pivotal role in RHOA. “I don’t care who disagrees; I feel like it’s the end of an era,” she said. “It doesn’t matter if you didn’t like her. You always need someone who doesn’t mind being real and keeping it 100 on camera.”

Burruss lamented the show’s decision, questioning if anything else could have been done to keep Moore. “I just felt like, ‘Oh dang, there wasn’t anything else they could do?’” she added.

Despite the controversies, Burruss recognized Moore’s contributions to the show. “She was one of those people who made sure people spoke about what they had to speak about. Now that she’s gone, I just wanna see how it’s gonna work.”

Before ending her live session, Burruss honored Moore with a chant of “Kenya Moore Hair Care,” a signature line from Moore’s past seasons. “We’re gonna miss you Kenya,” she said, before adding with a smile, “Well, I ain’t gonna miss you, I’m still gonna see you. We’re gonna have fun.”

Moore has been a prominent figure on RHOA since season 5, only stepping away during season 11 when she was pregnant with her daughter, Brooklyn. Her absence leaves a significant void in the franchise, which can be streamed on Peacock.
