R&B veteran, Kenny Lattimore has been inducted into the National R&B Hall of Fame (NRBHOF) 2024.

According to the website, the nominees are selected by a panel of industry leaders and are chosen for induction by an approved process of the Hall of Fame founders and leaders.

The main purpose of developing the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame is to collect and preserve artifacts and to document accomplishments of individuals involved in R&B, Gospel and Hip-Hop music.

“As announced earlier this week, I’m incredibly honored to be inducted into the R&B Music Hall of Fame this year 🙏🏽! I can’t help but think of 12-year-old me, whose mom recognized my gift and enrolled me in voice lessons. I’m sure she’s smiling down today, proud and saying, “Job well done, son.”

It’s been over 25 years in this industry as a solo artist—filled with highs and lows. I still remember the day someone told me my career had pretty much plateaued . But with God by my side, I’ve witnessed something extraordinary unfold over the past few years. Another @billboard #1 with “Take a Dose,” a Top 5 hit with “Never Knew,” and now a third song, “Perfect Stranger” with @ledisi, rapidly climbing the charts.”

He concluded his statement thanking God, his mom and his wife Faith Jenkins.

“None of this would have been possible without the Lord’s guidance to remain consistent, a mother who planted the seed in that 12-year-old boy, the most beautiful, supportive wife @judgefaithjenkins who has been my rock through it all and of course all of the fans who have supported me through the years. Thank you! “

The NRBHOF was formed in 2010 and has been inducting artists since 2013. Their 200+ inductees include B.B. King, Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince, Jimi Hendrix and more.

“There is no other hall of fame in the world that is primarily focused and dedicated to the history of R&B music on a national scale,” LaMont Robinson, CEO of the NRBHF, said in a news release. “My vision to build a hall of fame to honor R&B and its contributions to civil rights, America, and the entire world is something that I don’t take lightly.”

The induction ceremony date has not yet been announced.
