Kevin Hart secures a win in sex tape lawsuit case.

If you remember in 2018, Hart was facing legal issues surrounding his former friend, Jonathan “J.T.” Jackson, who was facing four felony counts including an alleged extortion attempt that involved the sex tape of the comedian.

The video showed the actor with a woman who was not his wife during a trip to Las Vegas. However, the charges against Jackson were later dropped but Hart released a video in 2021 in which he expressed that he was “happy that that chapter in my life is over,” and cleared Jackson.

Earlier this year, Jackson argued that Hart breached the contract due to the verbiage he used in the video. Jackson claims that Hart had to make it clear that “he had nothing to do with the sex tape,” and he was seeking $12 million in damages

However, Jackson will not be receiving a dime from Kevin Hart after a judge sided with the actor. Judge Daniel S. Murphy ruled that Jackson “forfeited his right to pursue his $12 million suit against former friend Kevin Hrt in arbitration.” The judge also pointed out that the two men agreed on a settlement through private arbitration that included no monetary compensation.

Jonathan Jackson’s lawyers are planning to file an appeal to the judge’s ruling.
