On Monday, news broke of Lebron James’ son, Bronny, suffering a cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at USC. Now, the Lakers star is giving an update to fans about the status of his family.
LeBron took to Twitter to let followers know that the family is doing well.
“I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers,” James wrote. “We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us!”
A statement from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center later confirmed Bronny was recovering at home after being discharged.
According to Bronny’s cardiologist, Dr. Merije Chukumerije, the protege was “succesfully treated.” The statement credited “the swift and effective response by the USC athletics’ medical staff.” It also provided additional detail, making sure to state that he will continue to be assessed.
Bronny was hospitalized Monday morning after a prompt response from the university’s medical team. He was released from the intensive care unit in stable condition the next day.
