LeBron James has his eyes set on gearing up for team USA next summer at a try for one more Olympic gold medal with a slew of NBA superstars set to join him. League sources reported the future Hall of Famer has been actively recruiting a list of stacked talent including fellow Laker teammate, Anthony Davis.
Among the other legendary stars set to commit to the 2024 Olympics are Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jayson Tatum.
James’ last time on an olympic team was back in 2012 and he led the USA to Gold along with Durant and the late Kobe Bryant. Curry is looking for this to be his first Olympics. NBA Sources say the trio is viewing this 2024 Olympic team as “one last run”.
The USA team had a disappointing result at the FIBA World Cup as they finished fourth and failed to collect a medal losing to Canada on Sunday for the Bronze. The relatively young team led by Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, and Mikal Bridges fell to Lithuania and Germany in tight games. Although James’ plot to recruit a squad for the Olympics had begun prior to the summer team taking the court.
Other NBA superstars interested in joining James include Devin Booker, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and De’Aaron Fox.
The team has a chance to recreate a memorable USA team like those of the Dream Team and the Redeem team while looking to claim their fifth straight gold medal in Paris next summer.
