Singer Leela James is taking the momentum from her latest album release, Thought U Knew on the road next year.
The 18-date run kicks off on Jan 13 in Grand Prairie, Texas. Following that, James will have several U.S visits including Tampa, Indianapolis, Detroit, Oakland, New York and more. James’ tour will also include a performance on Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise, which sets sail Feb. 13 to Nassau, Bahamas. The tour concludes in July in Stockbridge, Georgia.
James has made significant strides in the R&B genre since entering it in 2005. Her debut album, “A Change is Gonna Come,” led to nominations for a Soul Train Award and a NAACP Award. Her success continued with the 2010 album “My Soul” achieving a position in the Billboard Top 40 and Top 10 in the R&B album chart.
Her single “Complicated” reached the top of the US Adult R&B chart in 2021, and her ballad “Fall for You” was certified Gold in 2022.
Throughout her career, James has performed alongside a range of artists, including James Brown, Robert Randolph, The Isley Brothers, Maxwell and Fantasia.
