Last year, Diddy received the honor of being awarded the key to New York City by Mayor Eric Adams, now he may be the first person to have the honor revoked.
Mayor Eric Adams addressed the situation in an interview with Pix11 on Monday, May 20th, after the disturbing video of Diddy assaulting Cassie was released. During the interview, Mayor Adams was asked about the possible revocation of the honor, he responded, “I think all of us were deeply disturbed by watching that chilling video of the young lady being assaulted by him,” Adams said. “The committee and the team, we’ve never rescinded a key before, but we are now sitting down to see what the next steps forward are going to be.” He added, “We are taking everything under analysis and the team will come back [to] me with a final determination.”
In the video obtained by CNN, Diddy was seen physically attacking Cassie in the hotel hallway as she was waiting for the elevator. He threw her on the floor, punched and kicked her, and then continued to drag her down the hallway back to their room.
The video footage also supports Cassie’s claims of physical abuse at the hands of the music mogul that she put in her now-settled lawsuit. Before the video was leaked, Diddy had denied all allegations of abuse. He has since released an apology for his actions that were displayed in the video.
