Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on federal charges.

Reports say that this indictment comes after the New York City Mayor was under a monthlong federal investigation regarding campaign fundraising violations and foreign influence.

It’s unclear what charges Mayor Adams is facing at the moment. In the past, he had denied any wrongdoing pertaining to his campaign and has said that he told members of his administration to abide by the law. “I always knew that If I stood my ground for New Yorkers that I would be a target—and a target I became. If I am charged, I am innocent and I will fight this with every ounce of my strength and spirit,” Adams said in response to the indictment.

Mayor Eric Adams is expected to turn himself in the coming days, sources say. He was reportedly at Gracie Mansion when he received the news of the indictment.

This is a developing story and we will keep you posted with updates.
