Retired NFL superstar, TV host, and Fox NFL analyst, Michael Strahan is considering leaving behind his Good Morning America co-host duties, RadarOnline notes.

According to reports, Strahan will retire the gig when his $20 million contract expires later this year. He wants to prioritize his family, especially after his daughter Isabella’s recent health battle, EssentiallySports reports.

“H͏e wil͏l be ou͏t by this summer — He’s had enough,” an insider said. “It’s a lot. He wants to spend more time with his family.”  While his daughter Isabella was recovering, there was just one thing on Michael’s mind. For his daughter to get better and in good health, “She has shown me, I’ve learned so much from her, watching her go through all of this, but it’s the toughest thing to sit in a hospital room with your kid and you just sit there and you just tell ’em you love them.”  After ͏his͏ daughter’s ca͏nce͏r diagnosis͏, ͏he re͏aliz͏es that͏ time i͏s precious. “I’m very conscious of that, being ͏a dad.͏ That’s͏ what has led m͏e to think more abou͏t the end of m͏y c͏areer.”

Brain Tumor

In October 2023, Strahan took a break from the show as his daughter underwent multiple surgeries following a brain tumor removal. Sources say this experience shifted his focus, making him reconsider his career commitments.

ABC New Layoffs

Strahan reportedly earns over $20 million per year, a figure that sources claim is becoming unsustainable amid layoffs at ABC News. The network recently went through layoffs, and one source said, “Now producers are doing the work of two people… with one paycheck.”

Aside from GMA, Strahan has been the host of ABC’s The $100,000 Pyramid since its inception in 2016. He will return for the show’s eighth season on March 9.

The 53-year-old anchor has four children, shared with his two ex-wives, those being his daughter Tanita, son Michael Jr., and his twins, Isabella and Sophia.
