Monique Rodriguez, CEO and founder of Mielle Organics, has responded to allegations that her haircare products are causing hair loss. The controversy erupted after several customers claimed they experienced hair damage, including hair loss and scalp irritation, from using the popular Mielle products, now owned by Procter & Gamble.

Rodriguez addressed the concerns through a video statement, insisting the formulas of Mielle products have not changed since the company’s acquisition by Procter & Gamble in early 2023. “From the very beginning, authenticity and transparency have been at the core of what I do,” Rodriguez stated. “We have had the privilege of serving millions of customers who have experienced wonderful results using our products.”

No Formula Changes to Mielle Organics

Rodriguez reassured customers that her involvement with Mielle remains active and personal. She emphasized that she continues to oversee all aspects of the brand’s operations, and the products’ formulas have remained consistent. “I want to be crystal clear that my involvement in Mielle, still as CEO, is a personal choice. Our products are created with healthy ingredients, and they are formulated to deliver safe and effective results,” Rodriguez explained. She encouraged customers to check ingredient labels from 2019 to 2024, noting, “There has been no formula changes.”

This response followed viral accusations from influencers and beauty experts, including Danesha Mo’nek, who claimed the brand’s Rosemary and Mint Hair Strengthening Oil caused hair loss. Influencers like Mo’nek alleged that the formula was altered after Mielle’s sale, causing adverse effects for users.

Mixed Reactions

Despite Rodriguez’s statement, some customers felt the issue had not been addressed fully. One commenter criticized, “You didn’t address the issue: people’s hair is falling out. Why have the results changed if the formula hasn’t?” Others echoed concerns about the possibility of contamination or production issues.

However, Rodriguez remains steadfast in her vision. “My vision and commitment to our mavens and mavericks remains the same: delivering safe, effective, and high-quality products for all of you,” she concluded.
