Nene Leakes, the iconic reality star and original cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), recently opened up about the possibility of returning to the franchise. After departing the show in 2020 amid tensions with Bravo and executive producer Andy Cohen, Leakes is now hinting at a change of heart.
In a sneak peek of her upcoming appearance on Tamron Hall, Leakes, 57, expressed openness to rejoining the show. “If they called, I would answer,” she said. “I would need to hear what they have to say.” While promoting her new podcast, Me & My Homegirl, with Sierra Glamshop, Leakes revealed that time has healed old wounds, including her legal battle with Bravo and Cohen. “We’ve ended all of those things, we’ve moved forward,” she shared.
Nene Leakes Open to Reconciliation
While Leakes has not directly spoken to Cohen about returning, she clarified that the two are on better terms. “We did settle our dispute with each other,” she stated during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club. When asked about what it would take to bring her back to RHOA, Leakes joked, “If they got a check that’s got zero, zero, zero, zero, zero on the end? I might be back.”
Leakes admitted to missing certain aspects of her time on the show, saying, “I do miss the trips, I do miss the check. I don’t miss the arguments.”
However, she also noted that the current RHOA lineup would pose a challenge for her return. “I felt like if I was there, they would have to put certain girls around me,” she said. With new additions like Shamea Morton and Brittany Eady joining the cast, Leakes admitted, “All of those girls who are there now, I don’t know who they are.”
Fans and Stars Want Her Back
Fans and celebrities alike have been vocal about wanting Leakes to return. Actress Cynthia Erivo praised Leakes during a recent interview, saying, “Bring her back, please. She’s great.” Known for her quick wit and no-nonsense attitude, Leakes remains a fan favorite.
Bravo has not announced a premiere date for RHOA’s sixteenth season, but viewers are eager to see if Leakes might make a triumphant return.
