Nicki Minaj has been hit with a lawsuit and could be facing criminal charges.
Reports state that Minaj’s former manager, Brandon Garrett, has accused her of assault. Garrett reportedly worked with the rapper during her Pink Friday 2 World Tour and accused her of battery, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the lawsuit, Minaj had allegedly been critiquing the people on her team and ended up yelling at Garrett for sending someone else to pick up her prescriptions. She allegedly threatened that her husband would knock Garrett’s teeth out and said that he would “f*** up your whole life.”
“Are you f*****g crazy having him pick up my prescription?” the rapper allegedly yelled at Garrett according to the lawsuit. “You have lost your f*****g mind and if my husband were here, he would knock out your f*****g teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just f****d up your whole life and you will never be anyone, I’ll make sure of it.”
The lawsuit also claims that Minaj kept yelling at him before hitting him with an open hand across the face. He claimed that her hit caused his hat to fly off. He also said her security stepped in before she hit him on the wrist. Garrett hid in the bathroom at the Little Caesars Arena where he called his fiancée out of fear. Garrett also claimed that Minaj and her team left him stranded in Detroit after refusing to let him on the tour bus.
Nicki Minaj’s lawyer responded to the lawsuit and stated that the claims were all false. “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations.” He continued, “However if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by his ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”
