Disgraced singer Robert Kelly is on suicidal watch.
As reported on sources, authorities are keeping a close eye on the R&B singer following his conviction on racketeering charges in New York.
The Chicago Tribune reports it’s common for prisons to increase monitoring people who are convicted as protocol. R. Kelly’s lawyer points out his client didn’t say or do anything that indicated he wanted to harm himself.
R. Kelly is also revamping his legal team as he has two more trials to face. He’s facing a separate trial in Chicago on child pornography and obstruction charges, in addition to sex abuse charges in Illinois and Minnesota. He could face decades in prison. The sentencing for this case begins May 4, 2022.
