Ray J was handcuffed by police following a heated exchange with his ex-wife Princess Love in Los Angeles this week.

As TMZ reports, Ray J had just returned home on Thursday (Mar 13) for a break from the Millennium Tour 2025 when the argument occurred, citing police sources. He’s been performing as part of R&B group RSVP with Bobby V., Pleasure P, and Sammie.

At one point during the confrontation, allegedly regarding the couple’s impending split, the “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” star reached out to the LAPD, claiming her estranged husband was being aggressive, yelling and was possibly under the influence.

When officers arrived on the scene, they handcuffed 44-year-old Ray J and placed him in their squad car in a bid to deescalate and better assess the situation, sources told TMZ.

However, after speaking with both parties, police determined that no crime had been committed.

Ray J was subsequently released without charges.

Ray J & Princess Love ‘s Ongoing Marital Issues

Ray J’s detainment comes over a year after the reality star and his soon-to-be-ex-wife filed for divorce for a fourth time in February 2024.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce,” Princess wrote at the time. “After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways.”

The couple have two children, Melody and Epik, born in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Princess claimed that Ray was trying to “traumatize, manipulate and gaslight” the children and vowed to “save my videos for the judge.”

Princess and Ray J married in 2016 at The Cathedral Of St. Vibiana, a Catholic church in Los Angeles, according to PEOPLE.

She first filed for divorce in May 2020 after four years of marriage following a massive fight in Las Vegas. They reconciled in the summer of 2020, but Ray J then filed for divorce in September 2020 – before they reconciled again and moved to Florida with their children.

Ray J filed again in October 2021 – the third time they split – and they reconciled in January 2023.
