Royce Reed is getting some things off of her chest before the year comes to a close.
The former Basketball Wives cast member is calling out Dwight Howard, father of their 17-year-old son, Braylon Joshua Howard, and has taken to social media to tell her story.
On Sunday (Dec 29), Reed accused Howard of verbal, physical and emotional abuse. Shared across four Instagram videos, Reed said she felt compelled to tell her story due to Howard not leaving her alone when she asked him to, among other “lies, fabrications, false accusations and threats.” She claims she has receipts lined up and ready to go before the end of 2024.
Reed went on to say that she wasn’t taking this energy with her into the new year. “I refuse to go into 2025 carrying this weight so let’s go! Imma post the texts and emails too if you keep playing with me and calling my bluff,” she said. “I know about way more than you think I do so imma leave the initials R.E. to let you know it’s ON!” She then made an Instagram account with the handle “ihadababybysuperman” where she posted a series of videos detailing her relationship with Howard.
“Welp! He asked for it! I TOLD HIM TO LEAVE ME TF ALONE! Messing with my career after already being a deadbeat then saying ‘Get a job!’ like I haven’t worked nonstop since I was 16 was the LAST THING YOU SHOULD’VE SAID WITH YOUR DUMBASS,” she said in an Instagram post.
Reed claimed Howard tried to sabotage her career, saying he was partly responsible for her losing jobs in the past. She mentioned that Howard’s attempt to pressure her into silence with legal fees only made things worse.
“Knowing damn well you’ve caused me to lose several jobs! Now imma have to hurt your pockets! WHAT YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT! You should’ve sat this one out! Aint no post and deletes here! You sue me, you get dust! You tried to drown me in attorney fees to keep quiet?! “
Howard and Reed met in 2004 when she was a dancer for the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. Howard played for the Magic the longest — eight seasons — and most recently played three nonconsecutive seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dwight Howard responds to Royce Reed
Howard responded to Reed in the comment section of The Shade Room’s post, wishing her the best in the future.
“This is my HOF year. I’m getting married. God is amazing. And I’m so grateful and I wish Royce nothing but the best peace and [blessings],” he wrote.
Howard has made recent headlines for his engagement to rapper Amy Luciani. On Sunday, evening, after Reed online social threats, Luciani seemed to send the world a message about her boyfriend. She shared pictures of herself and Dwight on Instagram. He planted a kiss on her cheek, and they laughed and toasted with champagne glasses on an airplane. In the caption, she wrote, “After all that… still Committed [brown heart emoticon].”
