Shyne Barrow breaks his silence on the recent arrest of Diddy.

The former rapper and current Leader of the Opposition in Belize was asked to share his thoughts about Diddy’s arrest during a recent press conference. The politician recalled the fact that the Bad Boy Records founder destroyed his life.

“When I was an 18-year-old kid, just wanting to do nothing but make my mother proud, I was defending him and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me and he pretty much sent me to prison,” Barrow said.

“Yes, I forgave and move on. Let’s not forget what the cold hard facts are. This is not someone who I vacationed with, this is someone who destroyed my life, and who I forgave, and who I moved on, and for the better interest of Belize because he was in the position at that time to give scholarships and maybe to invest. I would not deny attempting to bring the investment to Belize and bring the contributions to education.”

Barrow was later asked if he knew or if he participated in any of Diddy’s “freak-offs” in which he said he had no participation nor was he aware of it.

In 1999, Diddy was accused of shooting inside a New York City nightclub that left three people injured. During his trial, he said that he fired his gun in self-defense. He was later acquitted of all charges, however, Shyne Barrow was convicted of first-degree assault for shooting two people. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Shyne was released in 2009 and deported back to Belize.
