During his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, rapper and Los Angeles native Snoop Dogg commended the resilience of his community amid the devastating wildfires sweeping through Southern California. Known as a “worldwide ambassador for Los Angeles,” the 53-year-old artist expressed deep gratitude to firefighters and volunteers helping those affected by the tragedy.
Snoop Dogg Applauds Firefighters and Community Efforts
“Firefighters have the toughest job,” Snoop said during the interview. “They always show up and do what’s best, but they don’t always get the credit they deserve. Right now, we need to give them a lot of praise. I give them a lot.”
Snoop shared that his own family remained safe during the fires but noted that many others were not as fortunate. “There are people I consider family who lost everything,” he said. “So we did what we do — we come together, we support, and we make sure they have everything they need.”
The rapper highlighted the unity demonstrated by Californians and others stepping up to help. “People are coming together. They aren’t looking at differences; they’re just looking at trying to make a difference,” he added.
Plans for a Benefit Concert in the Works
Snoop also hinted at potential plans to organize a benefit concert to raise funds for wildfire victims. While host Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the idea of creating a collaborative charity song similar to “We Are the World,” Snoop explained he envisioned something different.
“There’s been talk about concerts to raise money for the victims and the people who have lost in this situation,” he said. “I think that’s the angle I’d be leaning toward—doing a concert, not being paid, and making sure the proceeds go directly to those who need it.”
Snoop, who has been collecting donations at his Inglewood store, emphasized the importance of ensuring these contributions reach the people most affected. “My team goes on the ground to make sure the donations get to the people,” he stated.
