SZA has taken to social media to provide her fans with an update regarding her upcoming music endeavors, following the alleged leaks of unreleased material online. The leaks reportedly targeted her highly anticipated work, prompting SZA to rethink her plans and address the situation directly with her audience.
Initially, SZA had plans for an SOS deluxe version, which were subsequently derailed due to the leaks. In response, she announced on X, now deleted, that the original deluxe plans were scrapped. Instead, she revealed her intention to focus on fresh material while extending the lifespan of her chart-topping album.
“Y’all leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, y’all can keep the throwaways and leaks,” wrote the 34-year-old artist. “I’ll be starting ‘Lana’ from scratch. Do not ask me about it again… I’ll round up the leaks y’all already got and u can have those. Seems like a fair deal. ENJOY.”
SZA made it clear that her upcoming project, initially intended as the SOS deluxe, has evolved into a separate entity titled “Lana.” Despite setbacks caused by leaks, she remains determined to deliver music that her fans deserve.
In her social media posts, SZA expressed frustration towards individuals, including someone named Janessa, for allegedly sharing unauthorized content. She emphasized the importance of respecting artists’ work and condemned the act of leaking without permission.
“And please be clear anybody defending a thief is weird as f**k. I don’t come in your job and take sh*t and f**k up your work. Why would that be okay? Where’s the home training? Nobody wants to prosecute a young woman. We’ve all asked very nicely for some time now.”
SOS, initially released in December 2022, propelled SZA to global stardom, earning critical acclaim and breaking records. Despite the setbacks caused by leaks, she remains focused on delivering quality music to her fans.
