T-Pain receives a huge honor from his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida.
On Sunday, Nov. 10, the singer was presented with the key to the city from Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey. The honor was to celebrate his contributions to music and his impact on the community, as BET reports.
Mayor Dailey wrote on his X account, “Today, I had the incredible honor of presenting @Tpain with the key to the city in recognition of his contributions to music and his ongoing commitment to his community.”
He continued, “As a hometown hero, T-Pain has inspired countless fans and artists worldwide, and we’re proud to call him one of our own. To further celebrate his legacy, we’ve named ‘T-Pain Lane’ in his honor. Thank you, T-Pain, for making us #TallahasseeProud!”
The “Buy You A Drink” singer was also celebrated during a street renaming ceremony. It took place at the Walker Ford Community Center where city officials revealed the new name “T-Pain Lane.” The new street is located a block away from Florida A&M University.
After the ceremony, T-Pain held a live performance at The Adderley Amphitheater, as part of Leon County’s bicentennial festivities at Cascades Park. Congratulations to T-Pain!
