Tia Mowry opens up about the moment she received an abnormal mammogram result.

A clip from her reality show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, shows the 46-year-old actress receiving a phone call from her doctor’s office while in the car with her assistant, Ciara. “We got your results back in from your mammogram and your results have come back abnormal,” the person from the doctor’s office said.

They continued, “What that means is that we’d like to schedule you to come in for a biopsy as soon as possible so we can get some further insight.” Mowry replied to the news in shock and said, “Um… I don’t know, hold on. I’m sorry. Oh my God.”

She later said that she would have to call back to schedule her biopsy. Her assistant Ciara chimed in and said, “I don’t want you to worry too much. Let’s just get the appointment on the books and see.”

The actress said while crying, “I feel like right when I’m working on my mental health because of what I’m going through, now this. Another situation. This is my health.” While speaking in the confessional, Tia revealed that she’s been working on her mental health. “I’ve been meditating, I’ve been journaling, but I’m scared. I don’t know what to expect.”

Tia Mowry also shared that her grandmother and aunt both died of cancer. Ciara advised that she should calm down. “They didn’t say that you have cancer. Let’s not self-diagnose.”

During her confessional, Ciara said, “When we’re in a situation like this, I’m always gonna be that sounding board. Get it out. It’s better out than in. She has an amazing team of doctors, a very well-rounded team of doctors and there’s no need to worry.”

We will keep Tia Mowry in our thoughts and prayers.
