Tiffany Haddish has been hit with another lawsuit.
The actress, along with fellow comedian Aries Spears, is being sued by Tirzah Morris for defamation of character. Morris’s children dismissed the lawsuit against Haddish for alleged child sexual abuse last September.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline, Morris accuses the comedians of slandering her name following her children’s lawsuit after they alleged she tried to extort them.
The documents state that Morris and Haddish were friends between 2011-2020, and the pair became close as her children once referred to the comedian as “Auntie Tiff.”
Back in September, Haddish took to Instagram to address the sexual abuse allegation.
“I know people have a bunch of questions,” Haddish said in her response. “I get it. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now. But, clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all — and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.”
One of the skits involved in the question filmed in 2013, involved Haddish teaching then-14-year-old Jane to mimic fellatio.
Since the siblings dismissed the case back in September, Haddish and Spears have denied all wrongdoings. “Plaintiff’s mother has been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years,” Haddish’s lawyer said in a statement.
Per court documents, Morris stated the accusations and statements by the comedian have caused her to struggle personally, professionally, and financially.
