Tyrese is done with social media.

The singer and actor announced on Instagram that he’s officially retired from using social apps. “I’m officially retired from social media. I’m gonna go dark. I’m gonna pray, I’m gonna turn my comments off because I don’t want to be reminded of this very nasty and unbearable narrative that REAL MEN don’t cry,” he wrote in his caption.

He explained, that “real men” are being emasculated in today’s society and people try to make him feel bad for being “a man, an alpha male, an outspoken father, or the head of his household”. Tyrese shared that he won’t post about his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, which includes sharing his feelings publicly about their divorce.

He added that he won’t post about his current girlfriend, Zelie Timothy, however, he did acknowledge her for seeing the good in him. He ended his caption, by praising all the mothers for their roles, especially for bringing new life into this world.

The “Lately” singer said that it’s important for people to take the thoughts and feelings of men and providers into consideration. “Men will never ever ever be able to have that capability! But WE AS FATHERS, KINGS, HUSBANDS, PROVIDERS MATTER TOO. We cry and have feelings TOO,” he added.

Do you think that this will be Tyrese’s last time on social media?
