Usher is set to bring his electrifying concert experience to movie theaters with “Usher: Rendezvous in Paris.” This concert film will run from September 12 to September 15, featuring footage from his 2023 Paris residency.
Usher’s Unique Concert Experience
The film captures the singer’s performances at La Seine Musicale during Paris Fashion Week. According to a press release, the film “incorporates the essence of his landmark cultural phenomenon Vegas residencies into a seductive French touch confession.” It showcases never-before-seen costumes, state-of-the-art lighting, and special effects.
Fans can expect special renditions of hits like “Yeah!,” “My Boo,” and “Love In This Club.” The film also offers an inside look into Usher’s life beyond the stage. Directed by Anthony Mandler, “Rendezvous in Paris” will be shown in approximately 2,000 locations worldwide.
“Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans,” said Usher. “I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”
Usher’s journey in recent years has been remarkable. His Las Vegas residency ended in December 2023 after 100 shows. In February 2024, he headlined the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show, earning three Emmy nominations. Usher also released his ninth studio album, “COMING HOME,” on February 9, 2024. The album features collaborations with artists like 21 Savage, Summer Walker, and H.E.R.
Expanding His Legacy
Adam Aron, Chairman and CEO of AMC Theatres, emphasized Usher’s impact: “For 30 years, Usher has captivated and entertained audiences through his music and concerts. Bringing his unparalleled concert experience to movie theatres for his fans around the world is a perfect fit for AMC Theatres Distribution.”
“Usher: Rendezvous in Paris” follows in the footsteps of concert films from Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, both of which achieved significant box office success. Tickets for “Usher: Rendezvous in Paris” are available at usherinparis.com.
