Valarie Pettiford Joins ‘The Young & The Restless’ Cast

Valarie Pettiford, a veteran actress known for her roles in various hit TV shows, is making her return to daytime television. Pettiford is set to join the cast of The Young & The Restless as Amy Lewis, a character first introduced in 1983. This marks Pettiford’s first daytime role in 30 years, following her portrayal of Sheila Price on One Life to Live from 1990 to 1994.

“SO HONORED TO BE APART OF THIS LEGENDARY SHOW WITH THIS LEGENDARY CAST!” Pettiford shared on Instagram. She expressed her excitement and gave a shout-out to Stephanie E. Williams, the original Amy Lewis, saying, “DEAR STEPHANIE E WILLIAMS… I HOPE I MAKE YOU PROUD.”

Valarie Pettiford’s Notable Return

Pettiford’s debut on The Young & The Restless is scheduled for October 29, and her role will be recurring. While there is no word yet on why the character Amy Lewis is returning to the storyline, Pettiford’s involvement has already generated a buzz.

In addition to her upcoming appearance on The Young & The Restless, Pettiford has maintained an active career across television and film. She is currently a series regular on BET+’s The Family Business and has a recurring role on CBS’ The Equalizer. Her wide range of work also includes guest appearances in The Mandalorian, The Blacklist, A Discovery of Witches, and Half & Half, for which she earned three NAACP Image Award nominations.

From Broadway to TV

Pettiford’s extensive career isn’t limited to television. In 1999, she received a Tony nomination for her performance in the Broadway production Fosse. Over the years, she has expanded her talents behind the scenes, working with business partners to direct and produce live theater and develop television and film projects through her company, Scared Flight Productions.
