According to reports, sources close to Williams revealed that the former TV Talk Show host signed an affidavit on Wednesday asking a judge to release her from the guardianship. The affidavit claims that Williams has “regained capacity to function without a guardian.”

She also claims that she does not have Frontotemporal Dementia, although doctors have stated otherwise. In the Tubi documentary, “TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy,” they talked about what Frontotemporal Dementia is and explained that it is something that never gets better. They also claimed that Wendy Williams has been fine since she’s been sober for more than two years.

Sources reveal that Williams will be re-evaluated by a doctor sometime next week. The doctor was selected by her new attorney, who was hired to get her out of her guardianship. Her lawyer also filed an Emergency Order to Show Cause, a petition to “force the issue with the judge who has the power to end the guardianship.”

However, if a judge turns down Williams’ request to end the guardianship, she will have to demand a jury trial where they will decide if she is competent to be on her own.
