It’s been 30 years since the classic hit movie, “Sister Act 2” starring Whoopi Goldberg, and Lauryn Hill was released. Now the cast has reunited for a special performance.
During the taping of “The View,” the movie was celebrated with the cast singing one of its hits “Oh Happy Day.” Just like in the movie, Goldberg was wearing her black and white robe, just like she did in the movie, and Ryan Toby, who played Ahmal in the film, sang the lead part.
Goldberg would then speak about the movie’s impact throughout the years. “Everybody recognizes themselves in the characters,” she said. “Worldwide, it doesn’t matter how old you are, you are the age of those kids when you see the movie. You’re the age of them and you remember your time and you remember how happy you were that you didn’t get to go to Catholic school and you missed out on teachers like this. So I think people just feel themselves here.”
The cast also sang, “Joyful, Joyful” at the reunion. It has been reported that “Sister Act 3” is currently in the works.
