Wizkid made history this past weekend by becoming the first African artist to sell out the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
The global superstar gave an unforgettable performance on this stop of his “ More Love Less Ego” tour. The album accompanying the tour, More Love Less Ego peaked at No.59 on the Billboard 200 and earned him his fourth Grammy nomination.
The night started with opening performances from DJ Skyla Tylaa, The Cavemen, and Masego. The Nigerian singer performed his classics including “Ojelegba” and recent international heavy hitters “Essensse” and “Ginger”.
He kicked off the evening with a vibrant entrance of “Reckless”, featured on his 2020 album Made in Lagos. Wizkid closed the show with his party anthem “Joro” as fireworks lit up the sky to the soldout crowd.
The Grammy-nominated artist had been teasing the highly anticipated show prior on his Instagram. He commemorated his achievement with a collection of photos encapsulating the historic night and a caption that reads “Thank You London”.
The night was rightfully concluded as the singer added another record to his resume, receiving the Brit Billion Award for surpassing 1 billion streams in the UK.
Wizkid continues his 10-country world tour in Europe with newly added dates before his anticipated return to the States in November.
