Bryshere Gray, most known for his role on Empire as Hakeem Lyon, pleaded guilty in his federal domestic violence case.
Last July, Gray’s wife claimed he throttled her and caused her to lose consciousness. When the cops attempted to arrest Gray, he barricaded himself inside his home in Goodyear, Arizona.
In the latest update, Gray plead guilty to felony aggravated assault. Under his conditions, he must serve ten days in jail. In addition, he has to do three years on probation, where he must enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program.
Court documents obtained by TMZ report Gray also has to submit to drug and alcohol testing. It’s not clear how often. He also has to stay out of trouble and can’t possess any firearms, Tasers, or stun guns. The article also says Gray has to pay restitution. In addition, Gray has to check in with his probation officer within 72 hours of being contacted by law enforcement. Gray also needs written approval from the police before associating with anyone who has a criminal record.
Last year, reported on Deadline, Gray said he’s innocent. He said,
“It’s been beyond frustrating, and I certainly am not going rogue. I’m still taking the advice of my attorneys and everything like that, but I don’t really see, honestly, what staying quiet has really done, like, where it has gotten me… It’s so much bigger than me.”
