Anita Baker will be “giving us the best that she’s got” on tour next year!
The Detroit songstress announced today that she will tour the U.S from February to December. The first stop will be February 11th in Florida. She will be in the New York/New Jersey area May 10th and May 12th, aligning with Mother’s Day weekend. Then she’ll return to New Jersey in Atlantic City on Nov 24th, 2023.
She shared in a Twitter post, “Coming straight to, YOU. Retired from the plantation. Bringing, *My Own*, Catalog Plus? New Music. Annnnd … A Special Guest *Miracles Of Music*”.
The “Sweet Love” singer was sure to note that the music would be from her own catalog considering her recent fight to regain control of her masters. Last year, we reported that she was able to regain the masters of her music to which she credits Chance the Rapper for helping her with that feat.
The tour acts as a celebration for Ms.Baker’s debut album, The Songstress, debuted in 1983. The release of The Songstress, left an indelible mark in 80s R&B and still remains impactful to-date.
Tickets for Ms.Baker’s shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 17 through Ticketmaster. A presale for Citi cardholders will run from 10 a.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Wednesday at citientertainment.com.
