In addition to his name, Baby RZA’s first birthday party paid homage to hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. Baby RZA sported a black and yellow Wu-Tang themed jersey. Mom, 35, sported ODB inspired braids and dad, wore a pink and blue fur coat for a 90s aesthetic.
“WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN.’ HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO MY 1ST BORN,” Rocky captioned his Instagram photo dump. The caption is one of the most famous lines spoken by ODB at the Grammy Awards, and a mantra that has followed the Wu-Tang Clan.
For nearly a year, Rihanna kept RZA’s name under wraps. She hinted at the name by wearing clothing repping Wu-Tang Clan, which comprises RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and the late Ol’ Dirty B**tard, multiple times since giving birth.
After The Daily Mail obtained a copy of his birth certificate, news quickly hit the internet that his full birth name is RZA Athelston Mayers. He is named after rapper RZA, the leader of Wu-Tang Clan.
