Following the success of his first cookbook, Snoop Dogg has returned with a new collection of recipes in collaboration with his friend and rapper Earl ‘E-40’ Stevens. Snoop Dogg Presents Goon with the Spoon is filled with 65+ dishes that range from drinks to main courses to desserts. Each recipe takes inspiration from their music as well as they cook together.
The rappers turned entrepreneurs aim to give readers memorable crowd-pleasing meals. They even tapped their industry pals to contribute to the book by sharing stories of their favorite dinner parties. For both Snoop and E-40, the Goon with the Spoon cookbook is one of many edible endeavors.
E-40’s passion for the culinary arts stems from his childhood upbringing. Witnessing his mother balance three jobs while trying to raise multiple children sparked his desire to learn to cook. He later took the initiative to teach himself how to cook and equipped himself with the recipes to prepare hearty meals for his siblings.
The “Tell Me When To Go” rapper eventually leveraged his connections in the hip-hop world to pivot into the culinary industry and establish “Goon With The Spoon,” a brand portfolio of various food products.
Snoop Dogg is also no stranger to cooking. His food-related projects include starring on VH1’s Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, creating his own fried chicken recipe, and releasing his own cookbook. Snoop has also been a recurring guest on Martha Stewart’s cooking show. Both have served as judges on the Peacock special Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween.
As we’ve previously reported, Snoop also partnered with hip hop colleague Master P for Snoop Cereal.
E-40 and Snoop’s friendship started long before the Goons with the Spoons cookbook. E-40 helped Snoop get his start on the West Coast, and the two also formed the rap supergroup Mt. Westmore alongside Ice Cube and Too Short in 2021.
Snoop Dogg Presents Goon with the Spoon will be released on November 14 from Chronicle Books.
