It has been four months since the world has seen Will Smith on social media since he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. However, the actor has returned to address the situation and answer some questions.
At the opening of the video, it reads, “It’s been a minute… Over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and personal work. You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer.”
Will later comes on the screen and explains why he didn’t apologize to Chris Rock during his acceptance speech. “I was fogged out by that point, it’s all fuzzy.” He also stated that he has reached out to Chris Rock and was told that the comedian was not ready to speak at the time.
The actor goes on to apologize to Rock’s mother, brother, and family. He also states that his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, had no part in him slapping Chris Rock during the Oscars.
He also apologized to his family, Questlove, to the other people who were nominated with him, as well as his fans.
